The new journal. Pretty. Clean. For artists, absolutely terrorizing.

Pentallic Aqua Journal

Getting set to mark up this pentalic aqua journal.

What is it about that blank page that terrorizes us artists?

The Terrorizing Blank Page

It’s so fast, so white, so pristine.

But wait, what if we thought of it as empty? Needing companionship? Needing some life? Wanting something to keep it company, yearning for it even, needing it so badly it’s very existence depended on it?

Then would it be easier to get that first mark on?

I know for me, I’ve been thinking of “saving” this pretty book. I mean, it’s made of real 140# cp watercolor paper, a gold mine right?

But then, my mind raced, thinking each time I use it, I need to paint a masterpiece on each page!!! My heart pounded, my palms got clammy, I could feel the panic! The pressure! To make something pretty, over and over, each time on every page!

No. No, no, no.

This blank white page in this pretty book will not win!

It needs marks. It’s yelling for anything, something, it’s so alone without a splash!

So you know what?

I’ve got my palette. (Mission Gold by Mijello)

I’ve got my brushes. (Da Vinci Maestro)

I’m going in. Bold, bright and big!

This first white page of this pretty book is gonna get a big ole splash of bright color for a friend. Stay tuned to see the proof!

Right. Now.

Artists Need Supplies at Hawaiian Graphics

Artists need supplies. And these artists (us) visit local store Hawaiian Graphics for some much needed tools to complete a few projects.

Everything we create has some behind the scenes to it and field trips for supplies is one of those behind the scenes types of things.

Today we traveled to support our local shop and to get some much needed foam board, clips, and colored pencils.

It’s great to have an Artist spouse, with a cool ride!

Blue Watercolor and Da Vinci Maestro

Blue Watercolor and Da Vinci Maestro watercolor brush, a perfect pair.

See that new tool?
Yeah, that brush?

It does serious action!
What a difference a brush makes.

This one can “kiss” my paper, instead of “licking” it. This brush dances for me. I hear it’s song. It can bow long like a viola, it skips like a piccalo, it toots like a trumpet and swooned like honey voices.

And it’s great friends with blue now.

What’s in your hand?

What brush dances for You?
