I’ve been missing.
We all were ill last year (2024) and effects lingered into the holidays.
The result for me was… a season of mind fog and overall meh.
As December 2024 closed, I somehow was drawn to pick up needle and thread again, which has brought me to, Cross Stitch.
I manage to dabble in all these art forms and seem to rotate through them as time or need or mood cycles around.
It’s the time for stitching.
This one is the third project since picking up the needle again. It’s a Dimensions kit called Winter Retreat, a design of geese.
And I do love geese. Since moving to a place where many many geese migrate t o directly across our big picture window, I adore the geese.
Here’s some starting photos.

I’ve managed to cross the top and crawl down the right side. This piece is complicated enough with the ginormous amount of brown sky on the stiff 18ct aida the kit came with.
After fussing with it a lot, I’m learning how to tame it to my will, at least temporarily.
I thought I’d share it here as an update. I’ll keep adding to this if I can keep this piece from causing me an emotional breakdown from figuring out its coded instructions.
This is a kit for stitchers with some fortitude, for sure.
Keep creating,
Alicia
